Microlink's wireless equipment, like any electronic equipment, is prone to
damage through possible fluctuations in the Zesco power supply. Some areas
of the city seem more prone to these fluctuations, and especially in such
cases, it is advisable for you to install a voltage stabilizer and UPS to
give some measure of protection for your wireless equipment. Such items
would sit between the Zesco power outlet and the wireless equipment power
It is also advisable to put an ethernet surge-protector on the cable
connecting to the ethernet port of your radio.
Microlink does not supply these items, but they can be purchased from any
good electrical store.
Where applicable, it may be wise for you to turn off your wireless
equipment during storms, and overnight.
